Goals
Musical Nights at Oak Knoll Park The City of Clayton and the Clayton Parks Foundation sponsor an exciting concert series in Oak Knoll Park every fourth Sunday of each month (May through September). The concerts are held at the NW corner of Big Bend Boulevard and Clayton Road. Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets. Admission is free.
Other ProjectsThe Clayton Parks Foundation has recently provided the financial support and leadership to install an aquarium in the lobby of the Center of Clayton. This is a focus of interest in the lobby, which adds color and life to this space. We instituted a program where members of the Center can “Adopt a Fish” by dropping by the Pet Emporium on Hanley Road near Wydown. Residents buy the fish and the store installs the fish in the aquarium.
The Clayton Parks Foundation also sponsored the installation of the keyless entry lockers located in the top floor fitness center of the Center of Clayton.
Another project currently underway is the labeling of the species of trees in Oak Knoll Park. This has been done sporadically in the past. The Foundation is undertaking an effort to have a more complete and comprehensive labeling of trees in the parks, which will enhance the public’s enjoyment of that open space.
