The Aquatic Center at The Center of Clayton was designed with multiple user groups in mind. As a joint School District and City facility, the challenge was to build a facility that would serve the needs of the community, user groups, and High School teams and classes. We feel that our Aquatic Center does just that. The Aquatic Center is open for lap swimming and exercise during general hours of operation. Leisure Pool: A great place for hosting Birthday Parties and after hours rentals, the Leisure Pool provides a fun atmosphere for the family. The pool boasts a water slide, a tot slide, lazy river, vortex, and wading area with tumble buckets. With the warmer water temperature (86 degrees) and shallow areas it is the home of our extensive swim lesson program, arthritis and senior water exercise classes. The handicapped ramp improves ease of entry for those who participate in these classes. The Leisure Pool is open for recreational swimming various hours during the week, as well as offering warm-water lap swimming in our two 25-yard lap lanes.
Hot Tub: Our hot tub holds approximately 2,000 gallons of water and is kept at a temperature of 104 degrees. We limit use to people 14 years of age and older with a maximum capacity of 12.
Competition Pool: Our competitive pool is a 25-yard, 8-lane pool with two duraflex diving boards. The pool holds 220,000 gallons of water and has a regular temperature of 81 degrees. Housing the Clayton High School classes and sports teams, the competition pool is widely utilized for lap swimming, water exercise classes, diving lessons, scuba lessons, and lifeguard training classes.
